WC guide Wednesday 15 February: Does the distance queen strike?

Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof, Germany (8–19 February)

It happens on Wednesday, February 15
14.30: Distance 15 km, ladies.
SVT.

Swedish skaters
Hanna Öberg, Linn Persson, Anna Magnusson, Mona Brorsson.
Elvira Öberg is still ill and misses probably the competition. The situation on Tuesday was unchanged for the star.

Keep track of: The distance queen
There was no distance medal for Hanna Öberg in the Olympics last year, but with Olympic gold in 2018, World Cup gold in 2019, World Cup silver in 2021 and the first victory in the winter World Cup, the Swede is one of the great distance queens of the biathlon circus. Will there be another triumph?

Alpine WC in Courchevel and Méribel, France (February 6-19)

It happens on Wednesday, February 15
12.00: Individual parallel giant slalom, ladies and gentlemen.
TV6/Viaplay.

Swedish skaters
Sara Hector, Estelle Alphand, Mattias Rönngren.

Keep track of: The Swedish fight
After the team competition, it is now time for the individual competition in parallel-sized slalom. The discipline entered the WC program in 2021, but is not an Olympic discipline and is rarely run in the World Cup (the season’s only competition was cancelled). The skaters face off in heats against each other in a playoff tree – and it will be a Swedish battle straight away: Sara Hector and Estelle Alphand meet in the round of 16.
