Jakarta –
TransNusa plans to create a new flight model that has never existed in Indonesia. airline low cost carrier (LCC) or low fares will organize shuttle flights.
So, this flight concept makes it very easy for tourists to move from city to city with short distances. Travelers only need to come to the airport and can fly immediately.
“In the future we will go to several cities, we have plans from Halim to other cities. The nature of the flight is a shuttle,” said TransNusa Main Director Bayu Sutanto in a conversation with detikTravel on a flight to Denpasar some time ago.
“So people don’t even need to order, just come and go. Shuttle flights have a lot of frequency,” he explained.
In organizing this shuttle flight, TransNusa will use small aircraft produced by COMAC. The aircraft in question is a Comac type ARJ 21-700.
“Comac type ARJ 21-700 aircraft are also used when the demand for flights is low, A320 passengers are only 100 or fewer,” said Bayu.
“If there is a lot of frequency, the seats must also be reduced. But anytime, every hour or one and a half hours, people can fly,” he said.
Bayu then gave an example of shuttle flights in several countries. He said, several cities such as Kuala Lumpur-Singapore, Hong Kong-Taipei, and Beijing-Shanghai have them with many flight frequencies.
“We can buy it right away. There is a need for that (in Indonesia). That’s the plan for the future. It can be at big or small airports,” he said.
TransNusa opens international routes
Apart from shuttle flights, TransNusa will also operate international flights. The network will later connect travelers to Australia to other Asian countries.
“In the future, TransNusa will certainly make many flights to other and international routes. In the near future, maybe in April, we will start flying to Malaysia, namely to KL and Johor Bahru,” said Bayu.
“So for TransNusa besties who want to travel to KL or Singapore in a cheaper way via Johor Bahru, we will start these flights in April,” he said.
“Then to other countries, namely China, Hong Kong, starting in June or July. We will also fly to Australia to Perth, Darwin, Melbourne and Sydney in August or September,” he said again.
International flights from TransNusa are expected to take place this year. The plan will be in accordance with the arrival schedule of other planes.
“The flights we open abroad are also a type of LCC. There are no price restrictions for overseas or international flights,” he said.
“The LCC concept only limits facilities, so it depends on the passengers, so the price depends on demand and supply, the desire to buy passengers. Do you want to buy it or not?” said Bayu.
“That’s why even during the peak season, the LCC price will be the same as the full service one. Because the price follows the market mechanism,” he said.
