NHL: Away win for New Jersey

The Chicago Blackhawks lost 4-0 to the Montréal Canadiens away. The New Jersey Devils defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2 away.

Montréal took the lead after nine minutes thanks to Justin Barron, in the final third Joel Armia increased to 0:2 in the 46th minute and a double strike within 22 seconds by David Savard and Christian Dvorak in the 52nd minute finally decided the game for Montréal which could celebrate the third victory in a row.

Philipp Kurashev conceded a penalty in the middle period, won three of four face-offs, had two shots on target, blocked a shot and ended the game with a minus-1 record.

The game in Columbus was balanced, New Jersey took the lead twice through Yegor Sharangovich (11th) and Jesper Bratt (21st). Columbus immediately equalized through Johnny Gaudreau (20th PP) and Adam Boqvist (25th). The decision came in the final seconds after a quick counterattack served McLeod Ryan Graves who scored the win with 1.4 seconds to go.

Tim Berni received 18:15 ice time, shot once on goal, distributed three checks and ended the game with a minus – 1 – record.

Elvis Merzlikins parried 29 of 32 shots.

Jonas Siegenthaler received 20:23 ice time, shot once on goal, distributed a check and ended the game with a minus – 1 – record.

Nico Hischier won 8 of 18 face-offs, got 16:27 ice time, had one shot on target, distributed a check, blocked a shot and walked off the ice with an even record.
