On March 5, one of the world’s most famous harpists, the composer Alexander Boldachev from Switzerland, will perform in the small guild with the concert “Great Harp Fantasy: From Classic to Rock”.
During his 25 brilliant creative years, Alexander Boldachev earned a reputation as a musician who does not like stereotypes. His repertoire includes both pieces written directly for the harp, as well as more than 200 arrangements and arrangements of classical, popular and film music, as well as his own compositions. Boldachev performs solo concerts all over the world – in Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia. He has successfully performed in Carnegie Hall (New York), Salle Gaveau in Paris, “Musikverein” concert hall (Vienna), etc. His professional career includes successful projects together with director Kirill Serebrennikov and actress Chulpana Hamatova – last August, their joint musical was performed on the stage of Daile Theater poetic program “Orpheus”.
The prima of the Latvian National Opera, soprano Jūlija Vasiļjeva, will also take part in the concert. The audience will be able to hear famous pieces of opera music with an unusual harp accompaniment, and Yuliya Vasilieva will sing arias from Offenbach’s opera “The Tales of Hoffmann”, Dvořák’s opera “Nara” and Bellini’s opera “Norma”.
Interestingly, in 2018, Alexander Boldachev wrote and performed an electronic harp solo at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in football, sharing the stage with Robbie Williams and Aida Garifulin, and also participated in the Burning Man festival. In 2019, he founded the First Harp Festival in Zurich, and on October 20, 2020, on his initiative, World Harp Day was held, in which more than 100 harpists from 50 countries participated.
