Strike of waste collectors and cleaners municipality of Rotterdam

Consequences of the strike

  • Household containers (residual waste, organic waste and paper) are not emptied.
  • District containers for residual waste, glass, paper and cardboard, organic waste and textiles are not emptied everywhere.
  • Indoor waste containers are not emptied.
  • Waste bins on the street and in the parks are not emptied everywhere.
  • Bulky waste is not collected.
  • The garbage boat doesn’t sail.
  • The KCA bus does not run (small chemical waste).
  • Industrial waste is not collected everywhere.
  • Litter remains.
  • The streets are not swept.
  • The environmental parks are closed (environmental park Rozenburg is open).
  • The bike point is open.
  • The pop-up environmental parks on February 15, Stresemannplaats – Ommoord and on February 20 Albert Camusplaats – Ommoord, are canceled.
  • The already scheduled bulky waste appointments are canceled and therefore not collected. New agreements for bulky waste will be scheduled again after 27 February.
  • The loan cargo bikes and loan trailers are not available during the strike. Already scheduled loan appointments will be cancelled. Residents will be informed about this via email.
  • Pest control continues to work for regular activities and calamities.

There’s staking

  • From Tuesday 21 to Sunday 26 February we will only empty house containers for residual waste and indoor roll containers for residual waste instead of organic waste. On the regular collection days, put the house container of residual waste or indoor roll container of residual waste at the roadside. House containers of paper will be collected from February 21 according to the collection schedule.
  • From Monday 27 February we will resume the normal schedule of collection days for home containers and indoor roll containers for residual waste, organic waste and paper.

Reports via MeldR

We will not handle reports of litter on the street until February 20.

Fast Recovery via 14 010

Rotterdammers can, however, report dangerous situations in the outdoor area, closure of public roads, glass on the street, needles, drugs and chemical waste, and discriminatory graffiti via the municipal service number 14 010. These reports will be dealt with.
