Education: broken hearts and protest

The school map decided by the DASEN at the end of January and the global time allocations voted during the boards of directors of secondary schools in February set fire to the powder:

  • closures of 145 classes at the start of the new school year in September in 94, 5 closures and 2 openings in Vitry;
  • 46.5 hours of global time allowances removed at the J.-Macé high school, 11 at the A.-Chérioux high school.

The mobilization of parents and teachers in schools and secondary is organized against the lack of means. All day Tuesday, February 14, the Collectif parents Vitry invited parents to add their messages to the broken heart papers distributed in front of schools. They will then be assembled as a sign the next day and taken to the academic management of the National Education services, during the demonstration scheduled for Wednesday 15 at 2 p.m. from the prefecture to the rectorate of Créteil.

145 class closures in the department

Among parents of students from the Vitry Parents Collective, who are joining the Parents Collective 94 operation, we launched a “broken hearts” media operation last Friday on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Made of colored paper on which messages are written, they will be displayed until Tuesday, February 14 on the gates of schools in the city.

“The public school is being destroyed and I am heartbroken, repeats Manon Iattoni, member of the collective. The National Education closes classes and considers that 22-23 students per class is understaffed, while these are good conditions for learning. Children will not be educated properly, inclusive education for students with disabilities is a charade. »

For his part, Yohann Georget, parent of a pupil at Jean-Jaurès nursery and elementary school as well as at the Danielle-Casanova college, points to the lack of consideration, the gaps in the position of teachers and enormous AESH.

He deplores “two unaccompanied autistic children in primary school, and in college, in 3ea Latin French teacher who has not been replaced… for 6 months”.

Less than 46 hours of teaching at Lycée Macé

The inter-union, teachers of the Jean-Macé high school, on strike for 3 days last week, supported by the organizations of high school students, denounce the loss of more than 46 hours of teaching and already predicts the consequences.

“The most striking concern 2 double-level classes abolished in the Engineering Sciences and Techniques sector, points out Robin Cantaloube, professor. Similarly, duplication in language is threatened. Options in second are suppressed in Technological Innovation, Greek and Latin. On the other hand, overtime increases, thus weakening the personalized support system. Instead of hiring, increasing wages and reducing classes, he summarizes, the current logic overloads us, which will accelerate the recruitment crisis. »

Demonstration Wednesday February 15

The demonstration is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15 at 2 p.m. in Créteil, the convoy will set off from the prefecture to DASEN. It will bring together the forces Snudi-Fo, Snu-94, SNFOLC, GCT, Sud-éducation94, the FCPE and the Collectif parents du 94. It demands, in addition to improving the means for National Education, the abandonment of the reform vocational high schools and pension reform.

This coalition is calling for an extended strike from March 7th.
