In the first episode, which will appear on VTM GO on Saturday, February 18, TikTok star Céline Dept and former K3’tje Karen Damen can kick off the striker. The latter dreamed of a singing career from an early age. “When I was thirteen I wanted to be Madonna. It turned out a bit differently,” she confesses to Julie. “K3 seemed like a nice stepping stone. I thought: ‘I’ll do that here for a year or two, then I’ll know the people in this world and I can move on’. It turned out to be a stepping stone of eighteen years,” she laughs.
In ‘Julie’s Dance Academy’, Julie Vermeire will also unleash the dance legs of Andy Peelman, Junior Planckaert, Jamie-Lee Six and ‘Family’ actress Jools Jatta Janssens. But of course there are also a few other TikTok stars: Steffi Mercie, Gerben Tuerlinxk and Stien Edlund. “Dancing allows me to release my creative egg. Getting nine enthusiasts out of their comfort zone is totally my thing! For each of them I put together a dance with ‘a personal touch‘” Julie said.
‘Julie’s Dance Academy’ can be viewed exclusively on VTM GO from Saturday 18 February.
