Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would be embarrassed vis-à-vis the royal family, including Kate Middleton and Prince William. They would not have expected Sasha Walpole, an ex of the Duke of Sussex to respond and go further in her revelations.
In his autobiography, The Alternate, Prince Harry shares personal anecdotes, including how he lost his virginity at 16 in a field, behind a pub, to an older lady who loved horses.
The identity of the young woman was mentioned in this work. She is the same age as Meghan Markle.
Sasha Walpole, now 40 years old and mother of two children, then allowed herself to give her version of the facts.
She revealed that she was that person and explained that she had kept the story secret for 21 years out of respect for her friend Prince Harry without seeking attention. “He started kissing me. It was passionate, intense. It wasn’t planned and I didn’t know he was a virgin. It was fast, wild, exciting. We were both drunk. It wouldn’t have happened if we hadn’t been,” recalled the 40-year-old, adding that the report had lasted five minutes.
This release would have surprised Kinsey Schofield, a specialist in crowned heads, who opens up during an interview with New magazine.
“I’m sure Meghan and Harry are completely mortified about this,” she said. “I don’t think Harry thought Sasha would ever show up. She was mentioned so briefly in his book, but she came out and exposed it as if they had been together a long time.
“It was bigger than he expected. Meghan would be extremely embarrassed by the response she got,” she said.
That’s not the kind of attention she wants.
“I think she thought this book would elevate them and enhance their celebrity status, but ultimately they became the laughingstock of the royal family.
