Choi Min-ho, president of the Sejong City Sports Council for the Disabled (Mayor of Sejong), also visited the site of the event to encourage the Sejong city team, including Shin Eui-hyeon, and shared the joy of winning medals.
The Sejong city team participated in the ’20th National Paralympic Winter Games’ held in Gangwon-do from the 10th to the 13th and won 4 gold medals, and ranked 15th in the overall ranking of the competition with a total score of 2,778.
The 18-member Sejong City team competed in three events, biathlon, cross-country skiing, and curling, and raised the status of Sejong City by displaying the skills of the athletes who had been honed over the years.
Athlete Shin Eui-hyeon, who challenged for four gold medals in this event, won gold medals in the men’s sitting sprint 4.5km and middle (middle distance) 7.5km events held at the Alpensia Biathlon Stadium in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do on the 10th and 11th.
On the 12th, he won the gold medal in the third cross-country ski sitting 3km and the sitting 4.5km on the 13th, achieving 4 gold medals for 2 years in a row.
