In Russia, the general, ex-deputy head of the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for combating extremism, Vladimir Makarov, committed suicide. He participated in the repressions against the opposition.
According to unconfirmed reports, Makarov’s body was found today, on February 13, in the morning by his wife in a private house in the village of Golikovo near Moscow.
Journalists note that the ex-official was previously the main organizer of the “hunt” for oppositionists and journalists who criticized the Putin regime. In January 2023, Makarov was dismissed.
The source of the project said that the reason for the suicide of the general could be a deep depression after he was fired from his post in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
