Willem-Alexander will soon be king for ten years and he will celebrate this by having lunch with a hundred Dutch people who have committed themselves to the country. In an online video, the king calls for people to nominate “who deserve an A”.
“Do you know someone like that? Then I would like to meet them,” says Willem-Alexander, while he is preparing a stuffed avocado in the palace kitchen:
Lunch with Willem-Alexander and Máxima is on April 26 at Huis ten Bosch Palace, a day before the king’s 56th birthday. Nominations can be submitted in the coming week, followed by a selection procedure. This involves drawing lots, but also looking at the motivations submitted.
Willem-Alexander has been king since April 30, 2013. He then took over from his mother Beatrix.
