Depeche Mode could play their secret concert here in Munich

It has been known for a few days that Depeche Mode will be giving a “secret concert” in Munich as part of the forthcoming release of their new album “Memento Mori” on February 19th. Of course, where the concert will take place also remains a mystery — though there are some clues as to where Dave Gahan and Martin Gore might be performing.

As the fan page “Depeche Mode Monument” reports in a Facebook post, “indications are increasing” that the secret gig will take place in Studio 1 of the broadcasting center of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. There is room for around 400 to 500 people – a nice setting for a comparatively intimate concert by the synth-pop legends. It remains to be seen whether these speculations will come true.

On February 11, 2023, the band ended their nearly five-year live hiatus. As part of Italy’s Sanremo Festival, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore made their first appearance since the death of Depeche Mode founding member Andy Fletcher. You can see it all here.

Infos zu „Memento Mori“

The new Depeche Mode record will be released on March 24th. Here’s the full tracklist. It is the band’s first album since the sudden death of founding member Andrew Fletcher. The first single “Ghosts Again” was released on February 9th.

With the April 2023 issue of ROLLING STONE we are releasing another special collector’s item: An exclusive vinyl single with two songs by Depeche Mode – on the A side “Ghosts Again” from the new album “Memento Mori”, on the B side the famous song “Never Let Me Down Again” from the album “Music For The Masses” (1987). The 7″ single comes in a sturdy, carefully designed cardboard sleeve and on heavyweight vinyl.

It is only available with the German edition of ROLLING STONE and not in record stores.

A – Seite: “Ghosts Again“

B – Seite: “Never Let Me Down Again”

At the same time, MUSIKEXPRESS will be released with a Depeche Mode single. In addition to “Ghosts Again” on the A-side, there is a noble engraving on the B-side instead of a second track. Depeche Mode’s new album and their Germany tour in June and July are among the biggest music events of the year. That’s why ROLLING STONE and MUSIKEXPRESS have teamed up for this unique cooperation.

Both singles are also available in a bundle:
