“Last generation” starts traffic disruption wave in Vienna • NEWS.AT

Activists of the “Last Generation” will try to disrupt the daily morning traffic in Vienna in another “wave” starting today, Monday. The actions, in which roadways in particular are blocked by the protesters sticking together, are planned to last two weeks. The start of the “wave” was communicated in advance by the “Last Generation”: Meeting point is therefore at 8:00 a.m. at the Secession.

The aim of the public action is for so many private individuals to join the protest that it is no longer absolutely necessary to stick yourself to bring traffic to a standstill, said an APA spokesman. After the public start it will continue according to the usual scheme. The activists are planning to disrupt early traffic with targeted street blockades that remain secret in advance.
