IT’S 50 NOW – Increasing the number of charging stations is a key element in facilitating the diffusion of electric cars in Italy. All the more so on motorways, given that the great weak point of battery-powered cars is precisely the autonomy on motorway journeys, which rarely exceeds 300-350 km. For his part, Highways for Italy has pledged to fill this gap with the creation of the company Free To X and today communicates that the have been reached 50 high power charging stations along the managed network (which includes 50% of the Italian motorways). The goal, as foreseen by the Government, which has implemented the European directives in this regard, is to have them one every 50 kilometres. In addition to the 50 already active, Free To X has completed the work of another 20 stations, which will soon become operational, while another 10 are in the construction phase.
