The top senator, however, has urged the Joe Biden administration to continue relations with Beijing.
“We can’t just have a Cold War with them. We have to have a relationship with them. But China has taken advantage of us time and time again. And this administration is tougher than any other,” Schumer said.
The Pentagon said the object, which was shot down Saturday over the Yukon territory in northwestern Canada, was first observed in Alaska the previous night, and military officials are tracking it closely.
