The first fatal white shark attack in 2023 has been recorded in Mexico.
A 50-year-old shellfish diver was the victim of a very rare attack by a white sharks, in which resulted in the shark biting off his head.

The tragic incident occurred off the Pacific coast of Mexico, where a local resident named Manuel Niblas Lopez was collecting shellfish at a depth of 11 to 18 meters. While hunting for sea creatures, the man became the prey of an almost 6-meter white shark, which bit off his head and left bite marks on his shoulders.
This tragic incident became known from the words of Lopez’s partners in sea fishing, who at the time of the shark attack were in a boat on the surface and saw everything.
