The prices of goods and services in Latvia at the beginning of this year do not show a drop, despite the fact that the world has been observing a decrease in the prices of gas, electricity and food raw materials for some time. This is partly due to the fact that changes occur slowly and over a longer period of time, but partly due to the reluctance of companies to react quickly by lowering prices and the desire to make money by keeping prices at higher levels.
Also, traders are trying or will try to present some of the price drops as their promotions or special offers to loyal customers, according to experts.
