BRUSSELS – In Belgium, during a match between amateur clubs Winkel Sport and Westrosebeck, 25-year-old goalkeeper Arne Espil felt nauseous and fell unconscious.
The goalkeeper of Winkel-Sport just before neutralized the penalty, but immediately fell to the turf. The game was immediately interrupted, the football player was given first aid on the field, including the use of a defibrillator. However, the young goalkeeper died after being taken to the hospital.
