Microsoft said that applications that use the DirectX API suffer from a problem that causes them to stop working in Windows systems that contain old drivers for Intel graphics chips, after installing the cumulative updates for November 2022.
And the American software giant said that users of the affected systems will see the apphelp error of what is known as the proxy library for application compatibility, from applications that use (DirectX) due to the old (Intel Graphics) drivers, according to aitnews.
Microsoft explained this by saying: “You may receive an apphelp error message on Windows devices that use Intel graphics chipset drivers with versions from 26.20.100.7463 to 30.0.101.1190,” and added: “This problem may occur intermittently and affect applications that use ( DirectX) or (Direct 3D) to process parts or all of the content.
The list of affected operating systems includes the server operating system: Windows Service 2022, and personal computer operating systems: Windows 11 2022 version, Windows 10 2022 version, Windows 11 2021 version, Windows 10 2021 version, Windows 10 2020 version, and ( Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019).
Microsoft is working to fix the newly revealed problem, and will launch the update in an upcoming version of the operating systems.
And until the update that addresses this problem comes, Microsoft says that affected customers can temporarily solve it by updating the driver for (Intel Graphics) to the latest version.
And Microsoft added in the (Windows Health) panel update: “To mitigate this problem, you can install the driver for Intel graphics with a version newer than 30.0.101.1190.” And it continued: “It is recommended to check that the manufacturer of your Windows device supports the latest version of the (Intel) driver.” graphics) for your device”.
If the user cannot download the update directly from the manufacturer of his device, he can also check the list of (Intel Graphics) drivers to install the latest driver launched by Intel.
