A highlight of the territory to enrich the professional career of young people, the Trades Forum, allows a “school-business” rapprochement. Are concerned the pupils of 5th, 4th and 3rd. About sixty people participated, including expert parents, to testify and explain their profession.
Nadine La Rosa, principal of the Charles-Péguy college, explains that “the forum’s approach is collaborative (college, APE, expert parents, etc.). At the time of transition to college and before a post-college course, students must discover a certain number of trades and participate in 3rd class in an observation internship in a company. The discovery of trades can be started from the 5th. A child projects himself on professions thanks in particular to games. We have feedback from our 4th grade students, “expert comrades”, testifying to their immersion in a welding institute, for example. The students have the task of discovering several professions.
Industry jobs
The range of professions was wide, including professional fields such as agri-food, catering, media, culture, education, languages, law, services, sustainable development, telecoms, logistics, research, Defence, tourism, social, industry. But not only. In this context conducive to exchanges, the young people were able to correct a false idea of an idealized profession or, conversely, change their minds about a negative vision of a profession.
They discovered known professions, and others less in fields such as statistics, research, engineering, agronomy…
First aid training was also offered.
