Christian Coleman wins the 60m in New York at the Millrose Games

American Christian Coleman won the 60m in 6”47 on Saturday at the Millrose Games indoor meeting in New York. The world record holder over the distance (6”34) stole the show from one of his compatriots. Noah Lyles was indeed the favorite over this distance but he made a false start and received a red card. If he was able to run and finished second in 6”53, his time was not counted.

On the Armory Track, it was Travis Williams and Noah Lyles’ brother, Josephus, who made it to the podium, both in 6”59. Coleman retains his title won last year in 6.49, when he returns to competition after an 18-month suspension for an anti-doping rule violation.
