The name of the boy who ran over and killed the school principal in Plovdiv has been revealed

The prosecutor’s office has initiated pre-trial proceedings, but the driver has not yet been brought to criminal liability

Almost a month has passed since the fatal accident in which the deputy director of Plovdiv “Tsar Simeon the Great” SU Milena Petrova was killed. No charges have yet been brought in the case, but the name of the driver of the car that caused the impact has become clear – Veselin Tachev, who has just graduated from school.

We remind you that the accident happened around 7:30 am on January 12. What the Ministry of Internal Affairs disseminated as information is that a 19-year-old driver with only 3 months experience behind the wheel hit a crossing 52-year-old woman from Plovdiv on a pedestrian path under the Gerdjika bridge on “Maritsa” Blvd.

Petrova was taken by ambulance to “St. George” UMBAL in a very serious condition – multiple fractures, polytraumas and, according to eyewitnesses, she was incommunicado. A blood donation drive followed, in which dozens of people participated. Although doctors fought for her life for nearly a week, the deputy director died on January 20.

The only thing the police said was that the driver’s alcohol and drug tests were negative.

Although the practice shows that in such cases the driver of the car is quickly charged, in this case it has not yet been charged.

No details about the driver have been released. Veselin Tachev was behind the wheel of the car, reports trafficnews.bg. It is also not clear why the young man did not stop and how the accident occurred.

The prosecutor’s office has initiated pre-trial proceedings, but the driver has not yet been brought to criminal liability. The state prosecution explained that this is so, as two expertises have been appointed – auto technical and forensic. Their results are awaited, and only then is Tachev expected to be charged.
