BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) — China’s courier services have seen a surge in parcel volumes in early 2023. The number of ten billion packages was reached on February 8, the State Post Office (SPB) announced on Thursday.

With that, the country’s courier companies reached the 10 billion parcel mark in the first 39 days of 2023, 40 days earlier than in 2019, before the COVID-19 epidemic.

This year’s performance shows the vitality, resilience and growth potential of China’s express delivery industry, according to the State Post Office. This indicates that consumer confidence is increasing and the economic recovery is gaining momentum.

The data also shows that the average number of daily parcels handled has exceeded 330 million since February, which has helped the consumer market recover.

This year, the State Post Office will push ahead with building a rural logistics system, strengthen the integration of postal services and advanced production, and support the building of modern international enterprises in this sector.
