Before confronting Al-Ahly..Flamingo fans are “angry” and suing FIFA

Flamengo fans are preparing to file a lawsuit against the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) due to changing the stadium for the match against Al-Ahly of Egypt in the third and fourth place match.

Flamingo will meet Al-Ahly, on Saturday, in the third and fourth place match in the 2022 Club World Cup at Tangier Stadium.

The match for third place was supposed to be played at Stade Moulay Abdallah in Rabat, but it was changed to Stade Ibn Battuta in Tangier.

According to the Brazilian “UOL” website, the Flamengo Fans Association is preparing to file a lawsuit because of the last-minute change of stadium.

According to the site, the fans of the Brazilian club did not like this because of the accommodation reservations, which they had already made after determining the stadium in Rabat.

It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly played the confrontations with Auckland City and Seattle Sounders at Ibn Battuta Stadium in Tangier in the first two rounds of the tournament, before meeting with Real Madrid at Moulay Abdullah Stadium in Rabat.

As for Flamengo, it played the quarter-finals against Wydad at Moulay Abdallah Stadium, before playing the semi-finals against Al-Hilal at Tangiers Stadium.

Brazilian secret

  • Vitor Pereira, coach of Flamengo Club, imposed complete secrecy on the formation of his team, which will play its last World Cup match against Al-Ahly, which is expected to witness many changes due to injuries, suspensions, and the technical exclusion of some players.
  • Pereira said in the pre-match press conference: “We will make many changes. I know the formation in my head now, and I have not yet informed the players of what I will do.”
  • The coach of the Brazilian team said that his team must be more powerful in tackles and search for the ball when it loses it, and play with a better fighting spirit than the one that appeared against Al-Hilal in the semi-finals.
  • Flamengo striker Pedro said that his team feels great pain after losing to Al-Hilal, and he intends for the bronze medal to be a sedative for this pain.

Offensive crisis

  • The Swiss coach, Marcel Koller, Al-Ahly club, returned to talk about a crisis that the team suffered from before his departure from Cairo, which is the offensive sterility of the team.
  • Kohler, before facing Flamengo, stated that his team lacks the final touch and converts opportunities and control into goals, referring to this among the reasons for the defeat by Real Madrid, which witnessed 15 attempts against the Spanish giants, including 5 shots between the posts and the crossbar.
  • Al-Ahly coach admitted that his opponent possesses great individual skills, indicating that this is a characteristic of most of the Brazilian team, so he will seek to reduce their danger.
  • Koller did not have enough time to study the Brazilian’s competition, as he played the semi-final match last Wednesday against Real Madrid, then he had only Thursday and Friday to get to know his next opponent.
  • Koller said, “I only watched two matches for Flamengo before the tournament, in addition to their confrontation with Al-Hilal, but it is certainly a big team and has enough strength to deal with such tournaments.”
  • Al-Ahly is playing in the championship for the eighth time in its history and the third in a row.
  • Al-Ahly reached the semi-finals for the fifth time in its history, as the Red Genie won the bronze medal 3 times before.
