Dominic Thiem received a wildcard for the ATP tournament in Buenos Aires. The 29-year-old 2020 US Open winner has already won the ATP 250 tournament in 2016 and 2018 and was only stopped in the semifinals in his third appearance four years ago. Thiem traveled to Argentina last Wednesday and then also played in Rio de Janeiro and Santiago de Chile.
It is not yet known whether Thiem will also receive a requested wildcard for the Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells (from March 9th), which he won in 2019 with a final victory over Roger Federer. If not, he wants to play there in qualifiers.
