Entry into force on 1is January, the crop insurance reform is already deadlocked. Main point of tension: the meadows, poor relatives of agricultural insurance in France.
Only 1% of the 12 million hectares left in pasture or destined to produce hay are insured against drought or excessive rainfall. The objective of increasing to 30%, a rate already achieved for field crops, seems risky, given the dialogue of the deaf between breeders and insurers.
