India has a first innings lead of 144 runs
IND vs AUS 1st Test, Day 3 Score Updates: India will be aiming for a huge lead against Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy today. India are 321-7 at the end of the second day’s play. India has a first innings lead of 144 runs. Ravindra Jadeja (66*) and Axar Patel (52*) are at the crease.
India started the game at 77-1 on the second day and managed to add 244 runs. Six wickets were lost. The highlight of the second day was skipper Rohit Sharma’s 9th century in his Test career. Apart from Axar and Jadeja, nobody could score much. Debutant Todd Murphy took five wickets for Australia.
Earlier in the first innings, the Aussies were bowled out for 177 after winning the toss. Ravindra Jadeja who took five wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin who took three wickets broke Australia’s batting line. Australia’s top scorer is Marnesh Lebushain who scored 49 runs.
