The death toll of a pickup falling into a ravine in Kebumen has increased to 5 people

A pickup containing dozens of passengers in Kebumen, Central Java (Central Java) plunged into a 50-meter-deep ravine. Five people were reported dead.

Reported by detikJateng, Saturday (11/2/2023) initially three people were reported dead at the location, but recently two others died at the hospital and 20 people were injured.

The single accident occurred on Jalan Tutugan, Jintung Village area, Ayah District, Kebumen, on Friday (10/2) evening. The road connects Jintung Village with Karangbolong Village in Buayan District.

The pickup Mitsubishi L 300 carrying 25 passengers allegedly slid out of control and fell into a ravine. Kasat Then Kebumen Police AKP Tejo Suwono said the road at the location was quite steep.

“The crime scene went down quite steeply. It is suspected that the driver could not control the speed of the vehicle, so he fell into a ravine,” said Tejo when contacted by detikJateng, Saturday (11/2/2023) early morning.

The car with number plate AA 8295 GC was driven by Tanuri (48), a resident of Kedung Kamal Village, Grabag District, Purworejo Regency.

Identification of the accident victim who died:

1. Poniyem (50) a resident of Kedung Kamal Village, Grabag, Purworejo.
2. Harningsih (55), a resident of Kedung Kamal Village, Grabag, Purworejo.
3. Endang Puspitowati (38) a resident of Kedung Kamal Village, Grabag, Purworejo.
4. Suwarti (50), a resident of Kedung Kamal Village, Grabag, Purworejo.
5. Mulyani (35), a resident of Rowobayem Village, Kemiri, Purworejo.
