The San Diego Padres have reached a million-dollar deal with right-hander Yu Darvish.
The San Diego franchise is in the clear fight not only for the La Nacional West pennant, but also points beyond. Without a doubt, he wants to reach the so-called “October Classic”, and obviously, take the honors.
The Padres have been making moves in their ranks, lines that are undoubtedly well armed, from Fernando Tatis Jr., through Manny Machado to end with Juan Soto. A few weeks ago they announced the mega contract to Xander Bogaerts for $280 million and now the new bet is Yu Darvish.
The Japanese, who already has two seasons in San Diego, left a productive line in the 2022 MLB season of 16-8 with a 3.10 earned run percentage, with 197 strikeouts in 194.2 innings pitched.
