By order of Prime Minister Gulab Donev, three deputy ministers have been appointed, the press service of the Council of Ministers announced.
Katya Ivkova and Dr. Dinko Stranski were appointed to the position in the Ministry of Health.
Katya Ivkova holds a Master’s degree in “International Relations” at UNSS. From 2020 to the present, he holds the position of director of the Directorate “European Coordination and International Cooperation” in the Ministry of Health. In the period 2015-2017, she was the head of the “International Activities” department in the same department. Before that, she held expert positions in directorates of the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Dinko Stranski received his higher education at the Medical University in Sofia. He also holds a master’s degree in “Public Health Management” at the Medical University in the capital. For many years he worked in the Clinic for Skin and Venereal Diseases at UMBAL “Alexandrovska” EAD. From August 2022 to the present, he was an advisor to the Minister of Health.
Metodi Metodiev was appointed deputy minister in the Ministry of Finance. He holds a Master’s degree in International Finance from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He specializes in the field of public finance management, the deepening of the Economic and Monetary Union and the European framework for economic and fiscal governance. He has completed additional training and courses in the USA, Austria and Belgium. Metodiev worked in the Ministry of Finance, and in the period from 2010 to 2014 he held various expert positions in the “Macroeconomic and Fiscal Management of the EU” department, subsequently holding the position of head of the department. In the period 2015-2018, he held the position of head of the team of the Ministry of Finance at the Permanent Representation of Bulgaria in Brussels, Belgium. In the period from September 2018 to December 2022, with some interruption, he held the position of Director of the Directorate “Economic and Financial Policy” in the Ministry of Finance, and at the moment the Directorate has been transformed into “European Affairs and Economic Analysis”.
Toma Tomov and Lidiya Stoykova-Chorbanova have been released from the post of Deputy Minister of Health.
