In the program “Your Day” on Nova TV, he stated that the father, Petko Petkov, was involved in the search for suppliers of blue fuel. “He officially traveled to Turkey for negotiations together with Vesela Cherneva – Kiril Petkov’s foreign policy adviser. He flew at state expense in the first year of last year,” says Danailov.
Before “24 hours” in the late afternoon, Danailov confirmed that he has a document proving that Kiril Petkov’s father passed through the government VIP in the direction of Turkey. However, he did not specify the purpose of the trip. “He can say that he flew to go on a pilgrimage,” suggested Danailov.
“24 Chasa” asked the Ministry of Energy if there were documents that Petko Petkov was posted, if he used the government plane and if he conducted negotiations for gas supplies. The ministry said that after the newspaper’s inquiry, Minister Rosen Hristov ordered an investigation.
The Council of Ministers also said that they will do an inspection and only then, with the availability of documents, will they be able to report the facts. They were committed to making it happen quickly.
And Petko Petkov threatened to sue Danailov. “Crazy job, tell lies. I haven’t set foot in Turkey for 3 years,” said Kiril Petkov’s father.
At 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, after an inspection in the government unit, the Ministry of Transport said that the father of former Prime Minister Kiril Petkov did not fly on a government plane to Turkey.
Danailov also commented that after the suspension of supplies from Russia, the Ministry of Energy made every effort to protect the interests of the state and all citizens. “Let’s not forget that, despite everything, we managed from May 2021 to 2022 to give gas compensations. These are hundreds of millions,” he pointed out.
About the accusations raised by the prosecutor’s office against the former energy minister Alexander Nikolov, his deputy Danail Nikolov and the former head of “Bulgargaz” Lyudmil Yotsov, Danailov said that the truth should be reached and if there were damages, the guilty should be punished. The prosecutor’s office claims that the losses for the gas company from the supplies through intermediaries amounted to BGN 88 million.
And he added that not to pay Gazprom in rubles was decided by the Council of Ministers, there were letters of agreement from various ministers on the case.

According to him, all the time until the completion of the gas connection with Greece and the launch of the interconnector, there was only Russian gas on the pipes, and now there is mainly Russian gas as well.
“When the natural gas supply crisis arose and Gazprom’s notification to change the payment method, a working group at the Ministry of Energy discussed finding alternative supplies,” Danailov said.
