Jakarta –
Barcelona no plans to let go Ansu Fati. Barcelona still believes in Fati even though lately it hasn’t always been Xavi Hernandez’s first choice.
After being plagued by injuries last season, Ansu Fati is fully fit this season. The 20-year-old player has been injury-free so far for the 2022/2023 season.
However, Fati is having problems with playing minutes. He doesn’t always get the chance to play the full game.
From 31 appearances in all competitions this season, Fati has only started nine times. Overall, Fati has only played in full twice this season.
This situation made it rumored that he would leave Barcelona. Several Premier League clubs are said to be interested in Fati.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted that there had indeed been a meeting with Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes. However, Laporta emphasized that Barcelona has no intention of letting Fati go.
“His agent was here but Ansu is a Barcelona player and we have high hopes for him,” Laporta said as reported by ESPN.
“At the moment, we are not considering (releasing him). You can’t predict the future with anyone, but he is a player we trust a lot. We also don’t know of any movement from the player’s side,” he added.
