Study reveals that women with a healthy lifestyle are less susceptible to the effects of covid-19

A new study shows that women who lead a healthy lifestyle can reduce their risk of covid in the long term.

The study, published in Jama Internal Medicine, looked at nearly 2,000 women who tested positive for COVID-19 between April 2020 and November 2021.

The researchers looked at six lifestyle factors that they defined as healthy.

This includes:

  • a body mass index of 18.5 to 24.7
  • never smoke
  • moderate alcohol consumption
  • a high-quality diet
  • seven to nine hours of sleep a night
  • and at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week
