A fire broke out at a care institution for young people in Deurne last night. The fire started in one of the residents’ room. Employees of the care institution on Meester de Jonghlaan had already extinguished the fire before the fire brigade arrived.
The occupant of the room was taken to hospital by ambulance for further check-ups. A second ambulance arrived at the scene to check on escorts after they suffered smoke inhalation.
It is unknown what caused the fire.
