Fruits (Istock)
Certain fruits can interact with gut bacteria and results, good or bad, vary from person to person
Some people might think that it is surprising and healthy to have a plate full of colorful fruits as an ideal choice for breakfast. But this is not the case with every person.
Nutrition and gut health expert Dimple Jangda warned against eating fruit for breakfast because it could harm their health, according to what was published by Healthshots.
She says some people rave about the benefits of eating fruit, especially on an empty stomach in the morning. They are good for digestion, skin, hair, metabolism and immunity. But she explained that there are many ideas about eating habits, which are commonly misunderstood, including eating fruits as ingredients for breakfast.
Backfire
Each fruit contains a variety of enzymes and acids that can interact with bacteria in the gut and can be beneficial or bad, depending on a person’s symptoms. So Changda urges everyone to understand what fruits they should eat or it will be counterproductive.
“All fruits contain active enzymes and fruit acids such as citric acid, fumaric acid, oxalic acid and malic acid which react quickly with the lactic acid in dairy products and do not mix well with vegetables, grains and meats, creating undigested metabolic waste products,” said Dr. Chanda. These incompatible combinations hinder tissue metabolism and inhibit tissue formation in what can be described as an incompatible diet.”
Advantages of eating fruits in the morning
While Dr. Chanda explained that if a person can eat fruit for breakfast, they can reap some of the following benefits:
1. Detox
The human body undergoes a detoxification process from 7 to 11 in the morning. Fruits give extra energy to this process unlike detox foods which contain a lot of fat.
2. Increase metabolism
Fruits are the most digestible foods of all. Consuming them first thing in the morning increases your metabolic rates for the coming hours due to the influx of natural fruit sugars.
3. Energy and increased focus
The body is most in need of natural fruit sugars immediately after waking up. A cup of coffee can be replaced with a cup of natural fruit juice or a plate of natural goodness, in order to maintain focus and vitality throughout the day.
Contraindications to eating fruits in the morning
But Dr. Chanda warned against eating fruits in the morning if a person has the following symptoms:
• Acidity or burning sensation
• Colds
• Cough
• Sinusitis
• Allergies
Asthma
• hay fever
Lung congestion
• bronchitis
Diabetes
• overweight
General advice
In order to avoid the downsides of eating fruits, Dr. Changda advised that it should be kept in mind that they should be consumed on their own. In other words, fruits should not be mixed with vegetables, dairy products, grains or meats as they can become toxic. But fruits can be mixed with dried fruits as they belong to the same family.
