No wages for six months; In Kollam, the literacy drive took its life

Kollam: Literacy enthusiast took his life in Pathanapuram, Kollam. ES Bijumon, a native of Mangot, died. The Literacy Prakash Association alleged that financial crisis was the reason for the suicide as there was no salary for six months.

Bijumon took his own life while protesting in front of the association secretariat for wages. According to the association, 1714 preachers are in crisis in the state. The reason for the delay in salary is that the teachers who were under the Department of Public Education were brought under the Department of Home Affairs, but this was not implemented.
