MONTPELLIER – These days, tennis fans can enjoy, for example, a tournament in the French city of Montpellier. Several local players are (or were) in the spider of the event, among them 24-year-old Ugo Humbert.

Unfortunately, the Métis native already played in the tournament, but not the natural way on the court. In yesterday’s match against Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokin, he led 6:1, and in the tiebreak of the second set there was a moment that we definitely do not like to see.

While chasing the ball, Humbert stepped so badly that he injured his right leg and immediately fell to the ground. Fokina didn’t hesitate for a second, running to the other side to make sure his opponent was okay.

Humbert got back on his feet after a while and played a shortened game, in which he finally lost 2:7 and the set was tied 1:1. But he knew he wouldn’t be able to continue and immediately scratched.

Fokina immediately came to his opponent and verbally comforted him. Since both players are friends even off the court, no one was surprised by such a reaction. One of the discussants below the video summed it up perfectly: “I wouldn’t expect anything else from Foki. He started a charity to help animals. No person who helps animals is bad.”

There was considerable disappointment in the Spanish tennis player of Russian origin from Málaga. On the one hand, because he could not regularly finish the started duel, but he was even more worried about the state of health of his friend.

“I’ve known Ugo since childhood and it’s never easy to see a friend like this. I saw because he was flying and crying and I thought something happened. I wanted to play the third set, but it’s not easy to play with an injury.
