Heavy Rains Cause Sewage Spills in Fort Worth – NBC 7 Dallas (39)

Texas – The Fort Worth Water Company reported that heavy rains have caused sewage spills in several areas of the city.

However, they confirmed that drinking water is not being affected.

Below are the affected addresses:

  • 501 Sycamore St.
  • 1500 S University Dr.
  • 7096 Enterprise Ave.
  • 2849Salado Trail
  • 5600 Kaltenbrun Road
  • 304 Greenway Park Dr.

The agency added that the public in the area affected by the spill should avoid having contact with the wastewater material, soil or water. If the public comes into contact with the wastewater material, soil or water, it is recommended to shower and wash clothes thoroughly as soon as possible.

The water company has notified the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and certain elected officials of these spills. Laboratory samples will be taken from streams to ensure water quality.

While well water users within a ½ mile radius of the spill or possibly within the affected area should use distilled or boiled water for drinking, cooking, bathing, brushing teeth, and other tasks.

They should also, if necessary, take laboratory samples of the water and disinfect the well before choosing to stop using distilled or boiling water.

At the moment they will not be providing services, adoptions, or temporary homes.
