A love story from New York to Baillargues

On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Midi Libre tells you about romantic encounters until February 14.

“I saw Laurent for the first time in 2011, at Perre Station, he was with my brother, Thomas, who had come to New York where I was working in a brasserie pastry shop in Manhattan, wearing a small white apron over pink dress and tiara headbandsays Marion Lesaunie, a young woman in her thirties. I served those coffees that Americans take to the office.”

Laurent Martinetti smiles at this memory: “In 2011, I came to celebrate my 20th birthday in New York with my friend Thomas. At first glance, I found Marion cute”. “I also found him cute, but he didn’t speak English!”, adds Marion laughing. Laurent left. Their story could have ended there but, 8 years later, in 2019, Marion, back in Europe, was confined to her parents.

They recognized each other eight years later

She found a job in Montpellier and, without knowing it, every day she drove in the same direction as Laurent on the motorway. The telephone fairy got involved, when Marion, on her cell phone, recognized Laurent. They saw each other again.

During the second confinement, they lived together, then they decided to settle in Baillargues. In May, they will celebrate their marriage.

The strangest part of their story is that in New York, a clairvoyant told Marion “You have already met your future husband.”
