DKI Jakarta is preparing to close 27 points of rotation or U-turn and implementing a one-way system on seven roads. This policy was taken solely for the sake of reducing traffic jams in the capital city.
The two policies were the result of directions from the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono. Reducing U-turns and implementing one way is one of Heru Budi’s programs to overcome traffic jams in Jakarta.
“As directed by the Governor that the initial stage for the urgent term we will close 27 rounds, U-turn27 points,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo at the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (24/1/2023).
“In parallel with that (closing the U-turn, there will also be a one-way system arrangement on 7 road sections,” he added.
There are 27 U-turn points in five administrative city areas that will be closed. The following U-turn points will be closed:
Jakarta Pusat (4 U-Turns):
1. Jalan Garuda (Wuling Motor)
2. Jl. North Palmerah (Slipi Roundabout Pharmacy)
3. Jl. Sukarjo Wiryopranoto (BNI Sawah Besar)
4. Jl. Pejompongan (Tower BNI)
South Jakarta (6 U-Turns):
1. Jl. Raya Pasar Minggu (Housing Sat Brimobda)
2. Jl. Pakubuowo VI (Jl Martimbang II)
3. Jl. Raya Pasar Minggu (H Samali Stop)
4. Jl. RC Veteran Raya (Pertamina Gas Station)
5. Jl. Raya Ciledug (Mega Bank & BSI)
6. Jl. Prince Antasari (Simpang H. Naim II and H. Naim III)
Jakarta Utara (3 U-Turns):
1. Jl. North Sunter Lake Indomaret North Sunter Lake 33
2. Jl. Mitra Bahari Apartment Mitra Bahari
3. Jl. Yos Sudarso (On Ramp Entering Sunter Toll Road)
Jakarta Timur (6 U-Turn):
1. Jl. Raya Bekasi (Ujung Menteng Bus Stop)
2. Jl. I Gusti Ngurah Rai (Cipinang Bus Stop)
3. Jl. DI Panjaitan (Jatinegara District)
4. Jl. DI Panjaitan (Fire Station)
5. Junction of Jl Kapin Raya
6. Jl. Kayu Putih Raya (East Nangka Pulo Intersection)
West Jakarta (8 U-Turns):
1. Jl. Daan Mogot (Casa Jardin)
2. Jl. Daan Mogot (Victoria Residence)
3. Jl. Northern Palmmerah (Regina Pacis)
4. Jl. North Palmerah (Playfield Court)
5. Jl. Kembangan Raya (Neo Hotel)
6. Jl. Kembangan Raya (Before TL)
7. Jl. Outer Ring Road (Police Post)
8. Jl. KH Moh Mansyur (TL Roxy Five Bridges)
Meanwhile, for roads that will be implemented one way, Syafrim has not specified.
