Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – About 20 applications can reportedly drain the user’s cellphone battery. Included in the list are a number of widely used platforms such as Youtube, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
This report comes from pCloud research, which analyzes 100 popular apps. To see which apps are draining the battery, they analyze three things about the apps each app uses, such as location or camera, the battery these apps are using, and whether dark mode is available.
It turns out that the average battery-draining application uses 11 additional features running in the background. Features such as photos, wifi, location and microphone.
Those features will consume more power. In the end, the battery power will be drained a lot.
Meanwhile, not much has been done by the platform to fix this problem. In fact, only Instagram provides a dark mode to save up to 30% battery.
So far, the only other social media app that allows a similar feature is Twitter.
