Nakita Rees and Tom Wilson landed at home in Toronto after their honeymoon with no luggage. The couple had secured the suitcase with an Apple Airtag and thus learned that the suitcase was still at the transfer point.
The two repeatedly documented the journey of the suitcase on Tiktok, and also pointed out the location of their suitcase to the airline Air Canada. Suddenly the piece of luggage appeared near Toronto, where it was apparently taken to a warehouse. “Then he stood there. One month, two months, three months,” Rees wrote on TikTok.
The couple received compensation from the airline
The couple drove to the hall but were turned away. Confronting an airline manager at the airport about the location didn’t help either: He claimed he’d never heard of the warehouse, Rees told the “Business Insider“.
The airline had already marked the suitcase as lost, and the couple received compensation of 2,300 Canadian dollars. No solution for the two, they turned on the police.
Airline donated suitcase to charity
The police were initially unsuccessful, but after months of waiting, the couple got their luggage back. The reason for the delay: The airline had donated the suitcase to a charity and only found it again after a long search. Apple Airtag didn’t help, the tracker was no longer attached to the case.
