Estonian security expert Rainer Saks stated that Russia has already started the next big attack on Ukraine, and it has been going on for some time, Estonian media reports ERR News.
Ukrainian officials and international media say the attack is imminent and likely to coincide with the anniversary of the invasion, February 24. Sachs, in turn, pointed out that the talk of a new, impressive attack mainly comes from the Russian side.
Expert for an Estonian television program Circular view said: “I think it’s been happening for a while. Russia has no time.
If someone talks about an attack in two, three weeks, then it will be the moment when the spring thaw will begin on Ukrainian roads and they will be impassable. It will get warmer.
I can’t imagine that the attack could be much bigger than now.»
Sachs said that huge losses for the Russian side are due to the fact that it is very actively attacking, and it is unlikely that the aggressor is able to significantly increase the scale of the attack. He added that if Russia wanted to move forward, it should start now, not three weeks from now.
Ukraine has reported that Russia has sent an additional 300,000 soldiers, however, Sachs said that they are not intended for fighting on the territory of Ukraine, most of them are stationed on the Russian border and in the occupied territories. The expert pointed out that Ukraine is quite successfully fighting around Bakhmut, however, the situation is still dangerous because supply routes are threatened.
