I stand with the Turkish people in good and bad times, said the Russian Aleksey Naydenov

Residents of Russian and Ukrainian origin in the southern Turkish province of Antalya are taking action to help those affected by Monday’s catastrophic earthquakes, Daily Sabah reports.

Two large earthquakes struck Turkey’s southeastern Kahramanmaras province, affecting several neighboring areas. In the coastal city of Antalya, relief efforts at centers set up in various locations are also being supported by Russians and Ukrainians living in the city.

Alexey Naydenov, a 26-year-old Russian living in Turkey, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that he immediately took action when he learned about the earthquake through social networks, writes “Focus”.

“When I saw such a disaster, I wanted to be with the women, the elderly and the people who are waiting for help. I stand with the Turkish people in good and bad times,” he pointed out.

Ukrainian Anna Aba, who donated clothes for the victims of the earthquake, said: “Turkey is helping us, so we will do what is necessary for the country. It makes me sad when I see the children there.”
