Covid-19: in two years more than 87 million vaccines have been applied in Peru | News

On the National Day of Vaccination against Covid-19 in Peru, the Minister of Health, Rosa Gutiérrez, recognized Peruvian nurses and nurses who, with their work, contribute to protecting lives throughout the country.

“In the history of each health worker there is only one objective and that is to save lives. Health has no borders or political color,” said the head of the Minsa before the medical staff of the National Children’s Institute of San Borja.

The acknowledgment also highlighted that to date, more than 87 million doses of vaccines have been applied.

It should be noted that this special day commemorates the arrival of the first batch of coronavirus vaccines two years ago, and with it the start of vaccination at the national level.

During this time, the work of the health brigades has allowed 93.98% of the population over 12 years of age to have the first dose, 90.27% the second and 74.10% the third.

In addition, in January, the bivalent vaccine against covid-19 began to be applied to health personnel and older adults. To date, more than 122,000 people over the age of 60 have received such a dose.

The first batch of 300,000 Sinopharm vaccines against the coronavirus arrived in Peru on Sunday, February 7, 2021, on flight AF480, from the Beijing airport in China, stopping at the Parisian Charles de Gaulle airport in France and arriving final at the Jorge Chávez airport in Lima.
