Armed criminal group (KKB) Papua allegedly set fire to Susi Air’s plane with flight number SI 9368 while at the Paro airport, Nduga Regency. The fate of the pilot of the plane is still unknown.
This news was confirmed by the Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fahiri. He also admitted that he had not received certainty regarding the condition of the pilot and five other passengers.
“The fate of the pilot and the five other passengers is not yet known,” said Mathius Faakhiri in Jayapura as reported BetweenTuesday (7/2/2023).
It was explained that the plane piloted by captain Philips M, a New Zealand national, was carrying five passengers, including a baby.
He also mentioned the names of five passengers on Susi Air’s plane, namely Demanus Gwijangge, Minda Gwijangge, Pelenus Gwijangge, Meita Gwijangge and Wetina W.
The Pilatus Porter type aircraft flew from Timika at 05.33 WIT and was scheduled to arrive at Moses Kilangin Airport, Timika, at 07.40 WIT.
“From the checks carried out from the air, it was seen that the plane was on fire at the end of the Paro airfield,” said Inspector General Fahiri.
