“I had a house somewhere. Whoever finds it – I’ll give it to him. Two or three – whoever finds them, they’re his! I’m not making a family hotel” – said Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov at the briefing where he announced that he was leaving the ranks of the GERB party. handed a reporter to Plovdiv24.bg. Here’s what else he had to say on the subject:
“This thing that you call a family hotel, 20 years ago I bought from Bedo Doganyan, an oil station, 300 square meters, and it was working as a gas station. It stopped working. I filed a PUP, Totev took me to court, 140 people came to register. Twice. Seven years, eight years of PUP, but it was not relevant to me, it was not a topic for me. They issued me a building permit, but during that time they built a large block from the south and it could not be residential, and I had a ready-made project. The project is from 5-6 years.
Now the dilemma was whether it should be public or residential. It cannot be residential, therefore the same project is called an apart hotel. I gave it to compensation. It’s not even me or my wife building it. My wife has been in business for a long time. Profitable business. So I see no drama. There are documents – you can see them. PUPs, building permits, contracts, etc.
I have nothing to be ashamed of. But as it was presented to Mr. Borisov: “Well, you were building a hotel?” I shout: “Don’t confuse me with Totev? I don’t have a hotel”.
A thousand square meters is with the cellar. And I don’t know how much I’ll get as compensation, because it’s floating relative to prices. I don’t have that kind of drive.
House where they told me I have? In Markovo? In Komatevo. I have a house a little further up – in Boykovo I have a house built a long time ago. I built it with both hands. A long time ago, before I was involved in politics”.
