Xiaomi brand POCO has announced two new X5 devices. Both have a 6.67″ screen and differ mainly in the soc and the cameras. For example, the X5 Pro 5G has a faster soc. Both phones are available from February 13.
The screen on the X5 devices doesn’t appear to be much different from last year’s X4 Pro; the 6.67″ screen has a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. POCO does say that the X5 Pro model uses a flexible OLED panel, which means that this screen must be lighter and thinner than that of the X4 Pro and the X5. The screen also supports one hundred percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum and 10-bit color depth. It has a peak brightness of 900cd/m².
The X5 Pro contains Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778-soc, which allows the smartphone to record 4k videos, among other things. The smartphone has a 108-megapixel rear sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a 16-megapixel sensor in the camera hole in the screen.
The phone has a 5000mAh battery and can be charged with 67W. The device measures 162.9×76.0x7.9mm and weighs 181g. The POCO X5 Pro 5G comes in black, blue and yellow, and costs 349 euros. Buyers also get 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage. For 8GB memory and 256GB storage, customers have to pay 50 euros more.
The regular X5 5G does not have that flexible panel, but it still has an OLED screen. This screen also has a higher peak brightness of 1200cd/m². The other specifications of the screen seem to be the same, although the X5 screen has a color depth of 8 bit. This phone also has the same ultra wide angle and macro sensors as the Pro, but the non-Pro version has a 48MP main camera and 13MP selfie camera. This model also has a 5000mAh battery that can be charged with a maximum of 33W.
POCO’s cheaper model measures 165.9×76.2×8.0mm and weighs 189 grams. This smartphone comes in green, blue and black, and in the same versions as the Pro. The X5 with 6/128GB costs 299 euros; the variant with 8/256GB costs 349 euros.
