New York: Earthquake in Western New York. A 3.8-magnitude earthquake was reported early Monday morning east of Buffalo. It is reported to be the strongest earthquake to hit New York in 40 years.
Authorities said the quake was felt within a 30-mile radius, including the area that includes Niagara Falls. New York is prone to minor earthquakes, but strong earthquakes are rare. It is reported that there has been significant damage in the earthquake.
