The benefits of hospital clowning go far beyond simply cheering up patients, a new Israeli study reveals. The research, led by Prof. Orit Karnieli-Miller and Dr. Lior Rosenthal, of Tel Aviv University, in collaboration with the Israel Center for Medical Simulation, was published in the journal Qualitative Health Research under the title “More Than Just an Entertainment Show: Identifying the Communication Skills and Therapeutic Goals of Medical Clowns.”
